In the recent weeks, VISA has identified Key Logger Malware that is equipped to send payment card data to email addresses or fixed IP addresses that are accessible to hackers.

There are instances where a hacker is able to install a Key Logger Malware directly on to the Point of Sale (POS) System.  This is possible due to poor network configurations and insecure remote access.

Based on VISA's findings, the malware uses FTP and SMTP on default ports.

This report from VISA gives you recommended mitigation strategies and different Key Logger Malware identities.
